Good oral health is important for your overall health, including speech and nutrition. Untreated oral disease can be a risk factor for heart and lung disease, stroke, and diabetes.
Visit a dental provider if you have any of the following issues:
- Broken teeth or fillings
- Roots of any of your teeth that are exposed
- Sores on the tongue, gums, or inside the cheek that do not heal
- Teeth that hurt when you drink hot, cold, or sweet beverages
- Bleeding gums
Available Services
The Florida Department of Health in Polk County (DOH-Polk) provides the following dental services to children and adults who do not have access to a private dentist.
- Exams
- X-rays
- Cleanings
- Fluoride treatments
- Sealants
- Fillings
- Extractions
- Oral hygiene information
Eligiblity
Acceptable dental health plans include:
- Medicaid and plans such as DentaQuest, Liberty Dental, and MCNA Dental. Since dental plans may change, please call to see if we accept yours.
- Polk Health Care Plan. $10 copay for members.
- Polk County Indigent Healthcare (IHC) Program. Polk County residents who meet income guidelines may qualify for no-cost dental care in our clinics. Contact our office to see if you qualify.
Cash, personal check, or a credit card payment is accepted for select services if an individual does not have a dental plan as listed above. A $15 pre-pay is required.
