DOH-Polk Issues Rabies Alert

DOH-Polk is issuing a rabies alert in Polk County in response to a confirmed case of rabies in an unvaccinated feral cat that was found in the north Lakeland area off Glen Road in Polk County on June 11, 2026.
DOH-Polk has issued a health alert for the presence of harmful blue-green algae toxins in Lake Echo – NW. The alert is in response to a water sample taken on December 29, 2025.
