Public Drinking Water Program
This program ensures compliance with the federal and state safe drinking water standards for public water systems. The Florida Department of Environmental Regulation has delegated the program responsibilities to the health department. Environmental Engineering staff review and permit water treatment plant and water main extensions, review construction applications and plans, inspect water systems, and monitor public drinking water systems’ compliance with bacterial and chemical contaminant standards.
