Did you know that drowning is the leading cause of death in children ages 1-4? Florida has the highest rate of child drownings under the age of 5 in the nation. Polk County has the 12th highest child drowning rate in the State. As we dive into the hot summer months, it’s important to be aware of drowning prevention measures. Join us Thursday, July 21st for the Lakeland Flying Tigers Drowning Awareness Game. Free drowning awareness and prevention materials will be available.
